Genesis 4:26 “At that time men began to call on the name of the Lord”
This passage emphasizes a turning point, a contrast between the line of Cain and the Line of Seth. In Seth comes a line that sees their need for God. Because of that, we have this passage that records a a moment when mankind began to call on the name of the Lord, recognizing full dependence on the Lord. The Hebrew word is qārā’ which means to proclaim or cry out. The same word is used in Psalm 18:3, when David says, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised…”
There is a moment, a point in time when we as believers began to call on the name of the Lord. The beginning of our worship starts with that moment, when we in humility and surrender recognized our need for a Savior. This moment changes everything in our life , and starts us on a new journey. Authentic worship, starts with a moment. That moment is the fuel for our life’s worship experience; our worship journey.
How do we keep our moments in front of us? How does our testimony fuel our worship experiences? Do we call on the name of the Lord?
